Perhaps Meryem can be an alternate.
if the MAG is convened as the WGIG was, alternates will probably not be accepted, as, candidates serve in their individual capacity
this was an issue of sorts for governments, who's ways of working don't really equate easily with serving in personal capacity, but, even they stuck to the recommendation, except for the case of the EU representative, which changed of course, with the presidency
