On Hammamet meeting
Hi again,
As those of us who attended Hammamet PrepCom1 have seen by themselves,
and as those of us who are subscribers to the CS plenary list have
read, Hammamet meeting has been -- how can I describe such a crazy
situation ? -- a bit chaotic :-)
Rikke, Antoine (FIDH) and myself are in the process of finalizing a
long statement to explain what happened with regards to the HR caucus,
which has faced uncredible attacks from pro-governmental Tunisian
organizations. The whole CS did face the same attacks, but the HR
caucus has been particularly targetted by the attempts of discredit. So
the caucus as whole should answer that, as well as indicates the way
ahead for its future work, in the framework of its agreed platform and
missions.
In the mean time, you can read information on what happened through,
inter alia :
- German WSIS CS website (articles from Ralf Bendrath) at:
http://www.worldsummit2005.org
- Andy Carvin's blog at: http://www.edwebproject.org/andy/blog
Best regards,
Meryem
