Re: Meeting of Human Rights Organizations and NGOs at WSIS PrepCom 2
Hi all,
Many thanks to Karen for disseminating the information.
Yes, there is already a 'Human Rights in the information society'
caucus, which is existing since PrepCom1. BTW, inputs from the HR Caucus
has been sent to the content and themes group to be included in the
civil society document. Contact persons for this caucus are :
- Meryem Marzouki (IRIS, France) - Meryem.Marzouki@iris.sgdg.org
- Rikke Frank Jorgensen (Digital Rights, Denmark) - rfj@humanrights.dk
The caucus web page is at: http://www.iris.sgdg.org/actions/smsi/hr-wsis
There is also a mailing list for this caucus.
We had a meeting last Friday in Geneva, which was also attended by NGOs
who have expressed the willing to join. The caucus is open, and
currently expanding. Interested parties should first look at the caucus
web page to check the objectives and current members of the caucus, then
send an email to join to the contact persons.
Rikke and myself have already left Geneva, and minutes of the Friday
meeting, where we discussed strategies for the next future, will be soon
sent to the list. New members will also appear soon on the web page
(some of the recipient of this email have already expressed their
willing to join).
Best regards,
Meryem
