I believe that we should also leave the door open for those with suitable credentials, that for one reason or another could not or did not participate in phase one.
on my particular recommendation - Gregory Walters..
Bill, as you are in Ottawa now as well - would you be willing to meet with Greg Walters? I could arrange a meeting. Perhaps after chatting with him you could tell us if he's a suitable candidate.
regards
Robert
All,
I share other's concerns about nominating people who have not been working within or close to the process.
Ideally we should have people who are cognizant of the positions we have worked on, as well as the outstanding issues on IG. There should be a continuity.
There are caucus members who are qualified in this context and should be considered
by us. I haven't consulted any of them, but here is my list
in alphabetical order only:
Diana Bronson Rikke Frank Joergensen Rainer Kuhlen Meryem Marzouki
Further, I think the HR caucus should consider supporting people from some of the other WSIS caucuses in terms of addressing the regional diversity issue. One in particular would be:
Carlos Alfonso
Thoughts?

[hr-wsis] Nomination - Gregory J. Walters
I would like to submit the name of - Gregory J. Walters - as a nominee for consideration of this caucus as a perspective candidate for the Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG)
regards,
Robert
btw. Ken Anderson is a name mentioned below. He is at the Information and privacy commission for the province of Ontario (canada). He is the director of legal services and deputy privacy commissioner.

Dear Mr. Guerra,
Thank you for this information regarding the WGIG. Did we not meet earlier at a Dept. of Justice Consultation on Genetic Information (?). I am Professor of Ethics at Saint Paul University in Ottawa. This work interests me both because of the subject matter, as well as the international public policy implications involved.
Not too long ago I published a book, *Human Rights in an Information Age* (University of Toronto Press, 2001), which is a study of Canadian and global information highway policies during the decade of the 1990s; more specifically, I address three key ethical policy issues: the impact of IT on jobs and employment, privacy and security, and, at a time when nobody really knew what the term meant, information warfare.
I have been working since that time more closely with the ethical, legal and social issues that arise with the genomics revolution, especially, genetic discrimination, the problem of reductionism and essentialism, and, most recently, reconsidering the entire question concerning the distinguishability or not of genetic information from other types of personal information, especially, non-genetic based health information.
I would be honoured to let my name stand as a possible nomination from the NPC-list caucus. I think Val Steeves would also make an excellent nomination (I have not told her this because I would like to see her finish her Ph.D. thesis, rather than take on more responsibilities (I am also a member of her doctoral committee at Carleton University).
At any rate, I will read through the links that you sent to members of the NPC-List. Would it be helpful if I sent you and Mr. Bendrath a copy of my CV? Please advise me, since I would be open to your kind suggestions/recommendations in this regard. I could also ask Val Steeves or Ken Anderson to nominate me if you think this would be more in keeping with protocol (?).
Thank you, again, for your kind assistance.G
