Dear Colleagues:
Getting back to basics I want to put forward a definition for "the information society" :
The information society is the "informed society". It is the society that has access to information and communication technologies, which enable it to have power and control over all aspects of human development.
The purpose of WSIS is to address the digital divide, the inevitable outcome in the battle for power in the informed society.
I would appreciate your feedback,
Thank you.
